57 years after she first hit the shelves, Barbie has finally grown up. While some speculate that this is the result of pressure from society and competitors, regardless of the reason, it’s refreshing to see Barbies that are curvy, tall, or slim, and who come in 7 different skin colors.
The secret project to change Barbie’s image was code-named Project Dawn, and only 20 people new of its existence. The first new Barbie dolls will hit the shelves today, January 28th, and Mattel will be watching carefully to see what happens. What do you think of the new dolls?
